EightLetters doesn't require an account, doesn't use cookies, and doesn't run analytics or tracking scripts. This page explains, plainly, what information the calculator and AI report actually handle.
To generate a chart, you enter a birth date and time, and optionally a gender, name, and birth city. Name and city are optional and only used to personalize your chart and correct for true solar time — nothing is required beyond birth date and time.
Each chart is identified by a report ID: a one-way cryptographic hash of your birth data and chosen language, generated with a server-side secret. Knowing someone's birth date alone isn't enough to compute or guess their report ID, and the ID itself can't be reversed back into birth data. Your report link is effectively a private key to your own chart — don't share it if you'd rather keep the reading private.
We cache the generated chart data and AI report text on our server, keyed by report ID, so reopening your link doesn't require re-entering your birth data or re-generating the report. We also log city and language (not name) for aggregate usage statistics. None of this is currently deleted automatically. If you'd like your data removed, email support@kindlingstudio.ca with your report link and we'll remove the associated record.
Your chart data (including any name or city you provided) is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the narrative report text. It's used only to generate your report, not for advertising or resold.
Paid reports are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number or other payment details — Stripe returns a payment confirmation, and that's what unlocks your report.
No cookies. No analytics or advertising trackers. No selling or sharing of your data with anyone beyond the AI provider (to generate your report) and Stripe (to process payment).
Commenting on articles requires signing in with a Google account; anonymous comments are not supported. Once signed in, we store and publicly display the name and avatar from your Google profile, an identifier used to recognize your account, and the comment text you submit. We never obtain or store your Google password or email address. Google manages the sign-in session itself, so we don't set any additional login cookies on our own domain. If you'd like a comment you posted removed, email support@kindlingstudio.ca with a link to the article and we'll take care of it.
